Hilton Hotels unveils director of marketing

Hilton Hotels International has appointed Martin Braisby to the new role of director of marketing services. It is part of the hotel group’s strategy to promote its brands outside the US.

Braisby will be responsible for developing the branding positioning of the Hilton chain in the UK, Ireland, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

He will also be responsible for promoting the group’s other brands, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Doubletree, Hampton and Hilton Garden Inn.

A Hilton Hotels spokeswoman says “The new role is in line with our expansion plan and he will develop the portfolio of brands in international markets.”

Before joining Hilton, Braisby was the marketing manager for the UK and Ireland with Continental Airlines. He has also worked for Malaysia Airline, looking after its marketing across 14 European countries.

In September, Mike Aston, the senior vice-president for marketing at Hilton, left the chain after eight years in the role. It is not clear if Hilton plans to recruit a replacement or scrap the role.

It is not clear whether the Braisby appointment will affect the agency roster.
