Saint wins online ads task for computer games firm

Ubisoft Entertainment, the French computer games company, has appointed digital agency Saint to its roster of agencies. Saint will handle the online ad account for new releases, thought to be worth about £2m.

The agency will also be responsible for building the Ubisoft brand, as well as creating the work for its future game launches online. It will work on a project basis with the company.

McCann Erickson was the last agency to handle the business in the UK. It lost the account in 2005, when marketing moved in house. MJM handles its media brief.

The company has a series of well-known game franchises, including the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series. Other titles include Assassin’s Creed, Red Steel and Silent Hunter.

It also recently released the Imagine game series for the Nintendo DS handheld games console, which has been promoted by TV presenters Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton.

Ubisoft is expanding its offering and has pledged that 12 new titles will be made available on the handheld Sony PSP console. The titles are due to be published on the format this year.
