BSkyB is launching an online shopping service on its Sky.com portal. The new service will allow consumers to compare more than 3.5 million products from high street retailers.
Sky Shopping, which launches today (November 13) will add a dedicated online retail destination to the portal, and shoppers will be able to buy direct from shops such as Comet, The Body Shop, Marks & Spencer and Woolworths. It will also offer targeted product recommendations to all visitors on the Sky portal, with retail suggestions based on the editorial contained within each site.
Sky has launched a dedicated Christmas hub, which combines the portal under one microsite. It will include seasonal TV listings and recommendations, ideas for Christmas days out, information on New Year events, games and gift ideas.
Sky.com was relaunched in 2007 and is the UK’s sixth largest commercial online network. It has around 7 million unique users per month.
