Former British Airways global marketer Jayne O’Brien (pictured) is understood to have stepped down as the chief marketing officer of Regus, the office workspace solutions company, after less than a year in the job. It is understood that O’Brien is leaving to go to Dubai.

It is, however, unclear whether she has a new job in Dubai.

O’Brien joined Regus Group in April last year and reported to its chief executive Mark Dixon. She left British Airways in January 2007 as its global head of brand and marketing. O’Brien had been with the airline for 17 years in a range of senior marketing and commercial roles.

She was replaced by Katherine Whitton at BA, who opted for voluntary redundancy early this month.

At the time of her appointment at Regus, O’Brien was the first high-profile marketer to join the company.

Regus was founded in 1989 by Dixon, a former hot dog vendor. Dixon owns 46% of the group. Last year, the company acquired Laptop Lanes, a company that leases workspace at airports to travelling executives.

Regus has office space in 950 business centres across 400 cities globally and rents its space spanning from one hour to as long as five years.
