Good Natured, the ethical fruit juice company, has expanded into the health and well being drinks category with the acquisition of juice brand Happy Monkey. It acquired the brand, previously owned by Scozil, for an undisclosed sum.
The company plans to retain the Happy Monkey brand and will focus on expanding its distribution it the out-of-home sector, including coffee shop chains and forecourts.
Good Natured director, Greg Boyle, says Happy Monkey currently comes one berry-based variant but it is now planning to develop other variants to extend the line. It is also looking at creating different pack formats.
He adds: “We will be focusing on sampling at trade events. We’re also looking to build the presence of both Good Natured and Happy Monkey in mainstream food festivals and music festivals.”
Good Natured is now available in major retailers, including Tesco, Waitrose, Budgens, Whole Foods Market and Boots.
