MediaCom makes key global appointments

MediaCom Worldwide has made several appointments in a global management shake-up. The move comes after GroupM chief executive Stephen Allen was named chairmen and chief executive of MediaCom worldwide in August.

A number of UK staff have been elevated to global roles; Mick Mernagh, director of consumer insight at MediaCom UK has been appointed as chief insight officer of MediaCom Worldwide. Mernagh will be responsible for “keeping actionable consumer insight at the heart of Mediacom’s communications”.

Jeremy Griffiths, director of business service at MediaCom UK has been moved to the role of global business science officer of MediaCom Worldwide. He will oversee the development of a global business science network for the group.

Mernagh and Griffiths will report to Harvey Goldhersz, MediaCom Worldwide chief operating officer and chief strategy officer. They will begin their new roles from January 2009.

In other appointments, Simon Tray GroupM UK’s chief financial officer joins MediaCom Worldwide in the same role, Ida Hemmingsson-Holl moves to MediaCom global marketing director from head of marketing in MediaCom’s Asia Pacific region. Julia Neuburger takes on the role of global chief client services officer and Doug Checkeris chief executive of MediaCom US will add regional leadership of North America to his existing role.
