Fujitsu unveils Lifebook4life green scheme for consumers

Fujitsu Siemens Computers is targeting consumers with its new green scheme, Lifebook4Life. It will allow users to exchange their laptops after three years for free.

Customers who buy new Lifebook laptops will be able to swap them for a new laptop after three years, providing they register the laptop with Fujitsu Siemens within 21 days and keep their receipt. The company says the scheme is their first aimed directly at consumers.

Paul Hoey, head of product marketing at Fujitsu Siemens Computers UK, says: “This scheme underlines the very high level of confidence that Fujitsu Siemens Computers has in its new line-up of systems. We want everyone who becomes a Lifebook user to remain a Lifebook user.”

The new scheme will be promoted by Fujitsu Siemens’s lead agency, Scholz & Friends, appointed to its advertising business in November (MW November 6).

The agency has a brief to produce an integrated campaign, highlighting the benefits of the Lifebook4Life offer to consumers. It will also work on a similar incentive for businesses, called the Esprimo Promise.

The campaign breaks on Friday (December 12) and will run across press and on consumer websites such as MSN and AOL. It will be supported by offline activity including point-of-sale work.

Hoey adds: “The schemes… reinforce our strong green computing credentials, and will help to ensure consumers work on machines that consume less power than other ranges and come with energy-saving features. It gives them rock-solid investment protection and value for money.”

Lifebook laptops retail at about £1,000 and are Fujitsu Siemens’s newest mobile PC range.
