Tesco Personal Finance has appointed BLM Quantum to handle its £3.5m digital media account. The agency won out against the incumbent Harvest Digital in a pitch earlier this week.

BLM Quantum’s appointment is effective immediately and encompasses digital planning and buying.

Tesco Personal Finance is a joint venture between Tesco and Royal Bank of Scotland. It has been running since 1997, offering a range of products including car and home insurance. It also offers users a credit card, which collects Clubcard points.

BLM Quantum’s remit will include creating and placing new banner advertising across the web and working on search engine optimisation strategies.
The company says it wants to boost its presence online for both its finance offering and its ecommerce shop.

The agency’s appointment comes days after the company named Paulette Rowe as its new commercial and marketing director (MW December 11). She was previously chief executive of European consumer finance at RBS.
