Moneysupermarket.com appoints marketing chief

Moneysupermarket.com Group, the comparison site company, has poached David Osborne, regional general manager at Easyjet UK. He will join the company as group marketing director in March.

Osborne will join alongside new chief executive Peter Plumb, who will replace current chief executive and founder Simon Nixon when he becomes deputy chairman in February.

Plumb joined the company as managing director of the financial services arm last month from research company dunnhumby, where he was managing director.

He has held a variety of marketing roles ING Direct, where he was head of advertising, e-business and promotions, Orange, where he was head of advertising and e-business, and Amazon.co.uk, where was head of brand. He joined Easyjet as marketing director in 2005 before moving to the general manager UK role.

The appointments come as the company moved to reassure the City that the insurance and travel strands of its business should compensate the affects of the credit crunch on its money business. It says it should still meet analyst expectations for its full-year profit.
