Eighties icon Grace Jones is promoting her first album in 20 years through a Facebook application. It will allow fans to send friends cartoon emoticons of the singer in various different poses.
The application entitled “Socially Sick” will enable users to virtually slap, drag by the hair, dress down or give the finger to their friends in the form of various cartoon faces of Jones which appear on a user’s profile. It was developed by digital music marketing agency, Paris Panda.
It is one element of a large-scale promotion for Grace Jones’ comeback campaign for her album Hurricane.
Paris Panda has also created a number of online ads using artwork by street artist Banksy. The agency is a start up which focuses on the music, entertainment, leisure and retail sectors.
Hurricane is Jones’s tenth studio album and is her first new material since 1998 when she recorded the song Storm for the television series, The Avengers.
