The BBC is supporting the launch of its children’s iPlayer with an on-air ad campaign. The campaign, created in-house, will air from February around children’s programmes and across the CBBC channel.

The new BBC iPlayer for CBBC was soft-launched by the broadcaster today (December 19). It hosts selected children’s programming including Blue Peter, MI High and Sarah Jane Adventures.

The service is restricted so that children do not access “inappropriate material” on the main iPlayer and is designed for children aged six to 12. It will be accessible through the CBBC website, where children will be able to view full episodes of selected programmes.

The BBC will also launch a second branded iPlayer for CBeebies, aimed at children under six, early next year.

The in-house BBC Children’s marketing team, led by head of children’s marketing Kelly Turner, has created the campaign.
