AB Inbev appoints Publicis agencies

Anheuser-Busch Inbev has appointed two Publicis Groupe agencies to handle global creative duties for its Beck’s brand.

Publicis New York and Publicis Modem East will handle the account.

The news follows last month’s decision by the incumbent Lowe London to resign the account. Beck’s was the last A-B Inbev brand handled by the agency after it resigned the Stella Artois account, since picked up by Mother, last year.

Last week, the brewer said “Beck’s family sales” in the UK on-trade sector increased in the six months to 30 June, while global revenue increased 2.9% to $17.7bn (£10.7bn) in the first-half.

The company has said that it will continue to invest “significant sales and marketing resources” in “focus brands” such as Beck’s.

The drinks maker is also currently reviewing the advertising business for its Budweiser brand in the UK and Ireland following the merger of Budweiser-owner Anheuser-Busch and Brazilian-Belgian brewer InBev last year.
