AB InBev tasks Vizeum with media account

AB InBev, which owns Stella Artois, Beck’s and Budweiser, has appointed Vizeum to handle its UK media planning and buying account, following a review.

The brewer has tasked the media agency with its strategy, planning, buying, stewardship and ROI measurement.

Vizeum will also help AB InBev drive its responsible drinking message.

The Aegis-owned media agency replaces AB InBev’s former media agency, Starcom.

Ken Valledy, AB InBev’s Western Europe consumer connections director, says:

“We are delighted to appoint Vizeum and are confident they will do a great job supporting us in choosing the right communications channels to engage our consumers around our latest Stella Artois, Budweiser and Beck’s campaigns in the UK.

“We are also very pleased that Vizeum will use their unique position to partner with us in our responsible drinking efforts. Together we can amplify this important message more powerfully in a coordinated approach.”

Last month, the brewer reported a 4.1% sales increase and a 7.5% profit increase to $1.15bn (£737m) in the second quarter of the year, boosted by strong sales of Budweiser during the World Cup in South Africa, where it was the official beer partner of the tournament.
