Carney replaces Jim Gallagher, who left the company last year. She will oversee all aspects of worldwide marketing and distribution for films released under the Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures banners, the company said.

“Just as we have looked at ways to restructure how we create and distribute our movies, we also needed to hire someone like MT, who can lead our incredibly creative global marketing teams and ensure that our films reach audiences around the world,” Rich Ross, chairman of the Walt Disney Studios, says in a statement.

Prior to launching Naked, Carney was worldwide planning director at Ogilvy & Mather.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is a film and television feature distribution company owned by The Walt Disney Company. Recent movies include the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (pictured).
