Marketing Academy unveils second year of future leaders
Potential marketing leaders of tomorrow have been selected for the second year of The Marketing Hall of Legends’ (MHL)intensive coaching and mentoring scheme, The Marketing Academy.
MHL has chosen 30 high calibre candidates after a rigorous selection process that saw twice the number of young marketers nominated to join the academy in 2011 than in its inaugural year. Click here to see the full list of 2011 Marketing Academy scholars.
The scheme is designed to help solve the problem of succession planning in marketing teams by developing the expertise and vision of young marketers.
The group will receive a year’s worth of teaching and mentoring from a list of CEOs, CMOs and marketers, agency heads, professional leadership coaches and leading lights from marketing academia.
The lengthy list of those providing their services for free is increasing this year to add even more knowledge and experience to the teaching pool. New additions lining up alongside luminaries from 2010 include marketing director of Premier Foods Jon Goldstone, CMO at News International Katie Vanneck-Smith, CMO at The Walt Disney Company Tom Christie-Miller, CMO at Microsoft Mikah Martin-Cruz and strategic marketing director at Google Sarah Speake, among others.
The scholarship programme for the year includes three of the now famous ’boot camps’ which will be attended by the whole group and where they can share insight and experience, hear inspirational speakers and partake in feedback sessions. The first boot camp begins next Monday (16 May) at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre.
The scholars will also benefit from up to 12 face-to-face sessions with marketers drawn from a variety of sectors and up to four lunch sessions, in which small groups are hosted by a leading business figure. There will also be one day learning sessions on a number of key marketing disciplines, including marketing strategy, direct marketing, digital and public relations.
The main brand partners this year are O2, ITV, Microsoft, Kraft Foods and Marketing Week while Faculty partners include Millward Brown, Albion, Google, jkr, PHD, Brand Learning, Programmes for Life, Wisdom8 and Fallon. The Industry Approved. Events partners for the Merlin Lectures are KevinAllenPartners and Adam Recruitment.
The academy was set up by MHL CEO Sherilyn Shackell.
