RBS names employer branding chief

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group has recruited Royal Dutch Shell and British Gas marketer Nimai Swaroop to the new position of group head of employer branding and marketing.

His focus will be to build and strengthen the company’s employer brand and other associated brands, strengthen recruitment marketing and help to drive candidate sourcing efficiencies across the Group.

At Shell, Nimai was responsible for building its employer branding and marketing capability across the UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Russia and at British Gas he worked on product marketing, strategy and portfolio roles, before moving to the telecoms arm at Centrica and then Business Gas heading the gas product portfolio.

Swaroop moved to Shell in 2004 where he held the title of head of recruitment marketing – Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia.

Susan Bor, director, RBS group resourcing, says: “Nimai brings a wealth of talent and knowledge of marketing which is a key area of opportunity for us in recruitment.

“Our staff are crucial as we make progress in rebuilding the reputation of RBS. We need to continue to attract new people into our organisation with the talent, ambition and vision to help us rebuild RBS into a strong and successful bank once again.”
