Liberty plans relaunch brand collaborations

Liberty, the luxury department store, will unveil new collaborations with Nike, Cacherel and Turner Prize winning artist Grayson Perry as part of a relaunch of the store next month.

The overhaul will see the retailer ramp up its womenswear offering but reduce its homeware ranges.

Fran Page, Liberty marketing director, says that it will continue with its plans to promote the brand through wholesale collaboration and investment in its first standalone Liberty store in Sloane Street, which opened in June, despite “slower than expected sales”.

Page adds that Kate Moss will be using Liberty of London fabric as part of her new spring/summer collection for Topshop, while Nike will be launching a limited edition range of Blazer basketball boots in Liberty of London print (pictured) in the autumn.

Meanwhile, its new range will include a Grayson Perry designed print and fashion house Cacherel will be launching an exclusive Liberty print collection in the store later in the year.

The group says its e-commerce sales had performed better than expected and its December sales “exceeded” forecasts in its Christmas trading update to the City today.
