Motorola UK marketing chief leaves amid restructure

Rachel Ward, Motorola’s UK marketing director, is leaving as part of a wider restructure of the handset manufacturer. Simon Collinson, director of marketing strategy for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will take on Western Europe as part of a widening of his remit.

It is not known if Ward has a job to go to. Collinson, who was previously sales and marketing director at BT’s retail division, will now take on Ward’s responsibilities in the UK.

The changes follow the promotion of Andrew Morley (pictured), vice president of marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa, who recently added Russia and key Asia markets to his responsibilities (MW January 8).

The marketing restructure comes amid a number of job cuts across the company’s global business. Last year, it also stalled the spin-off of its handset division.

Motorola reported a 15% decline in revenue to $7.48bn (£4.56bn) for the quarter ending September 30.
