Endemol appoints global marketing and brand chief

Paul%20JohnsonEndemol, the company that makes Big Brother, has appointed Paul Johnson to the new role of global head of marketing and brand partnerships. He will commence in March.

Johnson joins from Reed Midem in Paris, where he has been director of its TV division for the past six years.

At Endemol, he will be responsible for developing relationships with global brands and growing its brand partnership division. He will also oversee all marketing and communications, event management, brand affiliation and branded content.

He will drive the growth of its global franchises, which also include Deal or No Deal and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

During his tenure at Reed Midem, he has been responsible for the growth and development of brand partnerships for the MIP programming markets, MIPDOC, MIPTV, MIPJUNIOR and MIPCOM. He has driven the development of the MIP markets to include all forms of TV and film, digital content and a recently launched advertising, agency and brand segment.

He will report to Ynon Kreiz, chairman and chief executive officer of Endemol, and will work alongside Marco Bassetti, chief operating officer, and Tom Toumazis, chief commercial officer.
