Coors president Hunter takes over at ISBA

Mark Hunter, the president of Coors Brewers, has been named as the new president of Incorporated Society of British Advertisers. He will chair the ISBA Council, the organisation’s senior governance body, and succeeds John Clare, former chief executive of retail group DSG International.

Hunter, who takes over the role immediately, was marketing director at Bass Brewers, owners of Carling, before Coors Brewers acquired it in 2002. He has been chief executive of Coors Brewers in the UK since December 2007.

He says: “Companies face a challenge in protecting their freedom to advertise from increasing regulation, especially during the current commercial down turn.
One of my priorities as ISBA president will be to demonstrate to the government how advertisers can be part of the solution to drive positive consumer choices in society.”
