Aegon to sponsor GB Davis Cup team

Feature-3-Computer-mouseAegon has been named team sponsor of Great Britain’s Davis and Fed Cup teams to add to the partnership the company already has with the Lawn Tennis Association.

The life assurance and pensions company had been prevented from sponsoring the national team due to a “category conflict” with the International Tennis Federation that has now been resolved.

The company, which recently announced it is axing 11 positions from its life and pensions marketing department, signed a five-year deal with the LTA to sponsor all aspects of British Tennis last September.

The agreement includes title sponsorship of the Queen’s Club tournament which had been sponsored by Stella Artois for 30 years.

The Davis Cup is sponsored by French bank BNP Paribas.
