Walkers’ competition mission

WalkersWalkers is launching an advertising campaign to promote the final six flavours in its “Do us a flavour” competition and to encourage viewers to vote on the final winner.

The campaign has been created by Abbot Mead Vickers. BBDO and depicts a 60- second battle between the flavours, which are personified through larger-than-life characters. As the characters campaign for the public vote, the mayhem builds until Gary Lineker, posing as a policeman, appears and steals the new flavours for himself.

The campaign breaks today (Wednesday) during Emmerdale on ITV1 and Hollyoaks on Channel 4. There will be a series of separate 20-second ads for each flavour going on air from February 16, each depicting Linker’s mission to snatch all the new packs. Viewers are directed to vote on the Walkers website or via a free SMS text message.

The campaign will run until May 1 when the public vote to decide the winning flavour closes. The six final flavours are Chilli & Chocolate, Fish & Chips, Onion Bhaji, Crispy Duck & Hoisin, Cajun Squirrel and Builder’s Breakfast.
