The7Stars has scooped the 10.2m media planning and buying business for bookmaker William Hill.

The7Stars has scooped the £10.2m media planning and buying business for bookmaker William Hill.

The agency beat incumbent Initiative and other unnamed agencies to win the business.

William Hill has retained Edward Groom Saunders for communications planning, and ilevel to work on the company’s online activity.

The win provides a much-needed boost for The7Stars, formed by ex-Carat executives, after the collapse of its retail client Zavvi.

The agency also won the media planning and buying business for four of the National Trust’s southern regions last month.

William Hill group marketing director Chris Edgington left before Christmas, and marketing duties are being handled by marketing controller Adam Harris, while Eyal Sanoff recently took responsibility for online.

Last month, William Hill Bingo signed up to sponsor ITV1 show The Real Deal, hosted by David Dickinson, with idents created by the company’s ad agency Home. This follows sponsorship of ITV’s Spin Star last year.

The Advertising Standards Authority banned a William Hill TV campaign for online bingo last year for condoning irresponsible gambling behaviour.
