Kerrang! sees circulation crumble

ABCs: Rock music weekly titles have seen circulation plummet with Kerrang! losing nearly a third of its average net circulation year-on-year, according to latest ABC figures.

In the monthly music offerings Bauer Media’s glossy monthly title Q fell a hefty 21.6 per cent year-on-year and 9 per cent period-on-period to 103,017.

Kerrang!, also published by Bauer, saw average net circulation fall 32.1 per cent year-on-year and 13.3 per cent period-on-period to 52,272.

IPC’s weekly NME has lost 24.3 per cent of its circulation year-on-year and 13.9 per cent period-on-period, to stand at 48,459, despite a relaunch last year.

However, IPC’s monthly Uncut title did manage a small 0.2 per cent rise period-on-period to 87,069. The title is down 4.3 per cent year-on-year. Rival Bauer Media title Mojo dropped 5.5 per cent period-on-period to 100,507 and 5.4 per cent years-on-year.

The dedicated hard rock titles Metal Hammer and Classic Rock, both from Future Publishing, saw healthy rises year-on-year and period-on-period.
