Pigsback.com takes on ex-City AM chief as UK director

NEWS-5-PigsbackOnline loyalty scheme Pigsback.com has recruited former City AM sales and marketing director Jeremy Phillips to be UK commercial director.

Phillips, who is a former vice-president of sales at Metro International, has also held roles at ITV, Eurosport and Express Newspapers.

He takes up the role at Pigsback.com a year after the previous commercial chief, Gavin Hughes, left the business. The website gives users “piggypoints” for interacting with ads and these can be redeemed against brand offers.

Consumers are looking more to loyalty reward schemes and redemption programmes as the recession begins to bite into household budgets, and last year the company launched a new high-street loyalty programme with loyalty management company Reward.

Pigsback.com’s commercial activities in the UK, for the past 12 months, have been looked after in the interim by UK managing director Gareth Hughes.

Phillips will be responsible for leading the UK team’s new focus on building relationships with marketing agencies and the roll out of a broad new commercial strategy for the UK.

The commercial team has also been bolstered with the appointment of Anthony Rockhead as account manager. He joins from Bauer Media.

Pigsback.com launched in Ireland in 2000 and in the UK in 2005. Pigsback clients currently include Walkers, Yakult, Diageo and Lovefilm.
