Steak picks consultant to fill new managing director role

Mary%20Keane-DawsonDigital agency Steak has appointed Mary Keane-Dawson to the newly created position of managing director.

She is a former chief marketing officer of digital media start-up GlobalCast Networks in China, and first worked with Steak as a consultant last summer.

She is also a former worldwide managing director of WPP-owned Spafax.

Steak has also created a client service team to streamline client handling across multiple formats. A newly formed Search & Media team has been created, led by Neil Stickells, who moves from his position as head of search engine optimisation (SEO).

Steak has just worked on the digital aspects of Swiftcover.com’s latest advertising campaign, which features rock singer Iggy Pop.

Last December VisitLondon appointed the agency to handle its SEO to raise the profile of the capital in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic Games. It was also handed the digital media planning and buying business of the Drinkaware Trust last October.

The agency specialises in SEO, paid search, display advertising, social media and digital design. In the UK, Steak’s clients include Virgin Holidays, Time Out, British Gas and John Lewis.
