MCCA helps Vodafone Spain to find UK agency

The Marketing Communication Consultants Association (MCCA) is helping Vodafone Spain to source a UK marketing agency to help with retail marketing initiatives and experiential work.

One of the MCCA’s roles is to act as an intermediary to bring agencies and clients together via its Agency Selections service.

The chosen agency will work with Vodafone Spain on marketing activity focused on the telecoms company’s 200-plus stores. The remit takes in loyalty and CRMinitiatives.

Vodafone is the second biggest cellphone carrier in Spain with approximately14 million customers, and the company is headquartered near Madrid.

Last year Vodafone head of global head of sponsorship and media Peter Harris left the company to take the role of managing director of Iris Worldwide’s sponsorship arm.

In the UK, the company is to launch a mobile news personalisation service with a range of partners, including the BBC and ITN. Subscribers will be able to tailor which news feeds they see when accessing the Vodafone Live! portal.

The MCCA has just appointed EHS Brann group managing director Mike Spicer as chairman to replace departing chairman Gary Brine.
