ITV1 will be showing an exclusive 3.5 minute ad promoting Michael Jackson’s much hyped forthcoming O2 live shows during its airing of hugely popular Sunday night show Dancing on Ice this weekend (March 8).
Dancing on Ice recorded an audience of 9m, giving it 35.7% share of audience for last Sunday’s show which featured a performance by coaches and legendary eighties skating champions Torvill and Dean.
Posters advertising the so-called King of Pop’s July live dates at AEG’s O2 arena started appearing earlier this week and the singer made a rare public appearance at the venue to confirm the shows yesterday (March 5).
Tickets for the ten shows will go on general sale next week following a “pre-sale” in which fans who have registered on the singer’s website will get a chance to buy the up to £70 plus booking fee entrance fee early.
The gigs will be the singer’s first tour in 12 years, and, according to Jackson, his last in London.
