Manchester City appoints former Aegis man

Manchester City has appointed former Aegis Media executive David Pullan as brand and marketing officer to grow the newly rich Premier League club’s supporter base.

Pullan, who was president of Isobar global client management at Aegis, will work with the club’s marketing director Matt Lowery.

He will be one of the club’s new “executive leadership team” along with recently hired chief financial and administration officer Graham Wallace and former Arsenal player Brian Marwood who has been appointed football administration officer.

The club, acquired by the Abu Dhabi United Group last September, is looking to broaden its global appeal with the signings of players including Brazilian star Robhinio (pictured) and attempted signing of his international teammate Kaka.

The Blues are reportedly negotiating a new shirt sponsorship deal with United Arab Emirates carrier Etihad Airlines after tour operator Thomas Cook confirmed earlier this year that it was not to extend its current deal beyond this season.
