Nissan International has implemented a shake up of its executive management structure and has handed additional responsibilities to senior marketer Simon Thomas.
He takes the new position of senior vice president, sales and marketing Europe (OC-E), meaning he is the lead marketer on the Operating Committee for Europe.
He will be based in Rolle, Switzerland, and take charge of all regional business units and relevant sales and marketing operations at Nissan International and Nissan Europe. He reports to Colin Dodge, chairman and chief recovery officer for the recently created Africa, Middle East, India and Europe (AMIE) regional division.
Thomas (pictured) is currently senior vp sales and marketing and Western Europe sales operations.
He is a former marketing director of Nissan UK and became sales director in 2003 before taking role in Canada. He took on his European sales and marketing role in April last year.
His new position is one of a number created in the restructure that also sees senior vp research and development Northern Europe to corporate vp global LCV business unit.
Dodge says: “Given the current market conditions, our priority is to focus on the recovery plan and prepare Nissan for when the market around.”
