STV reveals new logo and idents

STV has unveiled a new logo and fresh look for its channel, programmes and websites.

The logo and six station idents have been designed by Bruce Dunlop Associates (BDA) and the STV creative and aim to reflect Scotland’s contemporary culture and heritage.

The idents feature people and places from across the country and examples of architecture, landscapes and sense of community.

STV’s marketing is currently the responsibility of interim director of programmes and marketing David Brook. He says: “Our new look ties in perfectly with our strategy tom opt out of the network schedule more often, and bring viewers more Scottish-produced programmes as well as series of wider appeal.”

STV has taken greater control of its schedule and will introduce new programming this year. Dedicated shows have been developed surrounding the Scottish cultural celebration of the Homecoming.

STV news programmes Scotland Today and North Tonight are also to be revamped and renamed as STV News at Six.
