The Sun is to launch an online radio station following News International’s £1m investment in new TV and radio studios, according to reports.

Reports suggest the Sun is to roll out the radio station on 20 April and will be hosted by former TalkSport host and Sun columnist Jon Gaunt.

Gaunt will host a weekday show from 10am until 1pm, with Conservative leader David Cameron as his first guest.

The Sun hopes the station will attract 150,000 online listeners in its first year.

Its website reached 21.9m unique users to its site during January, according to ABCE.

The Sun refused to comment.
