The Sun launches ad campaign to back Heroes charity
The Sun newspaper has launched a new advertising campaign based around its support for the charity Help for Heroes, which is dedicated to supporting wounded military personnel.
The TV execution is voiced by Johnny Vegas and thanks those who have given their time to the cause. It uses the music from Hero, last year’s X Factor single.
The ads focuses on fundraisers and features members of the public dressed in the outfits they wore to raise money.
The campaign has created by agency WCRS and will run on television, 48-sheet posters, print, online and will be backed by CRM activity. It will also be supported by an extensive editorial programme in The Sun.
It will run for three weeks and has the strapline: “What will you do for our wounded heroes?” and is designed to encourage further fundraising for the charity.
The Sun has developed an area on its website to promote the charity and is planning an “Auction for Heroes” with eBay on April 6 offering ‘money can’t buy’ goods donated by celebrities like Jeremy Clarkson, Simon Cowell and John Terry, with proceeds going to Help for Heroes.
