Twycross Zoo is to launch a new television campaign created by advertising agency Golley Slater.

The agency recently won the business in a five-way pitch.

The Zoo houses the most comprehensive collection of primate species and subspecies in the western world and more than three quarters of the animals housed at Twycross are officially classed as endangered species.

The campaign is based on Golley Slater’s new positioning strapline for the zoo “Bring out the animal in you” and is soundtracked with the children’s song *Going To The Zoo”.

The campaign launches on 8 April on ITV and will be supported by radio, ambient and viral activity.

Andy Walton, Managing Director of Golley Slater, says the commercial reflects the effect the zoo has on people. “You get great access to the animals at Twycross, and it sends kids a little bit wild. In the ad, kids hold up boards with animals* heads on * so they almost become the animals. It looks very different * especially for the zoo sector”.

Media for the campaign is also being bought by Golley Slater’s in house media team.
