Diageo is launching a new television advertisement tonight (April 1) as part of the celebrations to mark the 250th anniversary of the Guinness brewery.
The ad will air during the England versus Ukraine football match on ITV1. It will be one of a series of ads designed to illustrate the distinctive energy and life of a pint of Guinness Draught and to encourage sampling by less frequent Guinness drinkers.
The 20 second spot has been created by Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO and is part of a series scheduled to run throughout April and May.
Diageo GB marketing manager for Guinness says: “The new TV advertisement perfectly depicts the excitement surrounding the Guinness pour and the way it comes alive in front of your eyes like no other beer.”
Diageo recently reported operating profits up 17% for the first half of its financial year. Guinness dropped 1% in volume sales.
