pitches ad account, part of the global network of Ancestry family history websites, is on the hunt for an advertising agency as part of its bid to grow its UK business.

The incumbent, Bright, will not take part in the pitch which is being handled by the AAR.

Bright is contracted to work on the business until June, after which the newly appointed agency will take over and work with the website’s media agency, Brilliant Media.

This is the first time has held a pitch for its advertising account. managing director Olivier Van Calster, joined the website from eBay in December last year.

He says: “As continues to grow and the UK family history category becomes ever more buoyant, we have decided it is time for a fresh creative take on our brand.”

The website has grown its UK subscription base to more than 200,000 since 2004 and offers members access to over 800 million UK historical records, and a further eight billion in its international collection.
