Specsavers campaign promotes hearing aids
Specsavers is launching a TV campaign to promote the fact that the glasses retailer also sells hearing aids.
The “Hearing Dog” campaign, created by its in-house creative team, breaks on April 20 and features an animated dog created by Hibbert Ralph Animation.
Aimed at older viewers, the ad opens on a long-suffering pet dog who is tired of running errands, such as answering the door and phone, on behalf of his hard-of-hearing owner.
The dog eventually persuades his owner to buy Specsavers’ hearing aids by placing message cards, in the style of Bob Dylan videos, in front of the man’s TV. One of the cards features the strapline “Should’ve Gone to Specsavers”.
Specsavers creative director, Graham Daldry, says: “This ad had to deliver a complicated message and prompt a direct response too, and we feel that Jerry Hibbert’s [from Hibbert Ralph Animation] animation has given us a charming and engaging way of achieving this.”
