Pernod Ricard appoints Euro RSCG for global ad duties
Pernod Ricard has appointed Euro RSCG to handle the global creative account for its Jacob’s Creek wine brand.
The agency’s Sydney office won the worldwide business following a review involving Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB and BBDO, according to reports.
The account was previously handled by Adelaide-based agency Clemenger BBDO.
The win comes a year after Pernod Ricard handed the global account for its Chivas Regal Scotch whisky brand to Euro RSCG.
In the UK, Pernod Ricard launched a December campaign for the wine brand focusing on the release of the Baz Luhrmann film Australia. Activity ran across Bauer Media’s on and off-line titles alongside an outdoor campaign cross-promoting the movie.
Last week, Pernod Ricard sold its Wild Turkey bourbon brand to Campari for $575m as part of its efforts to dispose of what it describes as “non-core assets”.
The drinks maker also announced its intention to raise €1bn (£900m) in equity capital through a share sale as it tries to reduce some of the debt burden taken on when it bought the Absolut vodka brand from Vin & Spirit for €5.63bn (£4.47bn) last March.
