Subaru signs Olympic medalist
Subaru, the car manufacturer, has drafted Olympic medalist event rider Sharon Hunt as its new brand ambassador.
As part of the sponsorship deal Hunt (pictured) will help promote Subaru at the events she will compete in throughout the year.
Hunt is ranked among the top 50 eventers in the world. Subaru also sponsors fellow event riders Oliver Townend and Emily Llewellyn.
John Fossey, Subaru UK brand director, says: “Sharon will be at all the major competitions throughout the summer with her vehicle and we are delighted to be partnered with such a committed and talented competitor.”
In March, Subaru appointed integrated agency Palmer Hargreaves Wallis Tomlinson (PHWT) to handle its UK ad business.
The West Midlands-based agency had previously handled the account until 2005. It won the business back from Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy.
In November, Kenyon Neads was promoted to the role of marketing director for the Subaru and Isuzu brands. He moved from his position as brand manager of Isuzu. He replaced Lawrence Good, who became managing director for the business at the start of last year.
