VisitCornwall looks for marketing agencies

VisitCornwall, the tourist body for the county, is on the hunt for advertising and media agencies.

VisitCornwall is tendering a three year contract to deliver initial concepts and campaign advertising and media buying with the option to extend the contract for a further year. The body has been working with Exeter-based RH Advertising since 2006.

Marketing responsibilities for VisitCornwall are currently handled by interim tourism manager Penny Woodman.

The county’s attractions include The Eden Project, Pendennis Castle and The Tate St Ives alongside its beaches popular for surfing and other water-based sports.

Tourism bodies and stakeholders in domestic holidays are hoping this year will see an increase in the number of Britons staying at home for their vacation due to the recession and cost of travel abroad.

VisitEngland has recently been set up as a stand alone body with a remit to promote the country. Previously it was a department of VisitBritain.
