The Telegraph’s online website has leapfrogged the opposition to become the most visited national newspaper site in March while The Sun online has seen a dramatic fall in unique users, according to the latest abce results.
The Telegraph online has posted a 5.88% jump for March on February, recording 27,708,274 unique users. The Sun online, which took the top slot in February, tumbled by 22.25% to 21,248,552 unique users, suggesting visitors driven by the coverage of the final weeks of celebrity Jade Goody’s life have now drifted away.
Guardian.co.uk, in the majority of previously recorded months the most visited site, saw a 3.58% rise in traffic to 26,238,539 but now lies second in the ranking. Its traffic did rise 40% year-on-year
MailOnline rose 8.82% to 23,768,358 and Mirror Group digital saw traffic rise 2.16% to 7,138,013. The Independent, rose 7.07% to 10,034,148.
Times Online actually posted a drop in unique visitors of 1.71% to 21,614,273.
