Air Southwest appoints Truly

UK airline Air Southwest has appointed truly London to handle its advertising following a competitive pitch involving three other agencies.

The brief takes in broadcast and on-line advertising, media planning and buying and digital channels.

Truly London, previously Smarter Communications, has already produced the advertising for the April launch of the new London route for the airline that flies twice daily from London City Airport to Newquay and Plymouth.

Air Southwest operates throughout the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands. The airline recently appointed Peter Davies as managing director to develop the business.

Davies was previously responsible for re-branding and re-launching BWIA to Caribbean Airlines in 2007.

Davies says: “We have a strong business base but our intention is to grow our operations and build the strength of the Air Southwest brand. Truly London demonstrated expertise and understanding of our industry and will play an important part in our development plan.”
