Capital Radio keeps breakfast top slot

Then station registered a reach of 1.06 million for Q1 this year, according to Rajar figures. This is up from 981,000 last quarter and 943,000 a year ago.

Snowdon first stepped in to cover for Vaughan’s co-host Denise van Outen in July last year but became his permanent breakfast partner on the show in August.

Global Radio’s Heart 106.2 breakfast show, featuring Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott, registered 833,000, down year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter.

Magic 105.4’s breakfast show, hosted by Neil Fox, remained in third spot but was also down quarter on quarter and year-on-year to 784,000 listeners.

However, Vaughan and Snowdon’s show runs from 6 am to 10 am while its close rivals run from 6 am to 9 am.

Total Absolute Radio (London), previously Total Virgin, saw a rise to 463,000 listeners for its breakfast show hosted by Christian O’Connell, up from 442,000 last quarter but down year-on-year.
