Peugeot partners with classical quartet Bond

Peugeot is tying up with the all-female electronic string quartet Bond to help promote the launch of the Peugeot 308 CC.

The car goes on sale on June 1 and the car manufacturer has signed Bond up to play at a number of free roadshow events.

It is also sponsoring a download of a new arrangement of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons performed by Bond. The Peugeot 308 CC features an Airwave Neck Heating System that blows controlled air around the necks of front seat occupants so they can drive the car in all seasonal weather.

The download is available via a Peugeot mini-site before being released on Bond’s new album.

Peugeot will also sponsor of the Taste Festivals this year to be held in London, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

The marque has just appointed former Peugeot UK marketer Jonathan Goodman to the role of UK managing director.

The car industry is continuing to suffer heavily in the recession with UK car sales in April down 24% year-on-year, according to the Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders. The number of new cars sold in the month was the lowest since 1991.
