Phd has been appointed to the estimated £7m media planning account for the Government’s Act on CO2 climate change initiative following a pitch.

The brief was previously handled by Mindshare, which was appointed by the COI in 2007 after a pitch against Phd. Both agencies had previously been incumbents on the account.

Phd went up against sister Omnicom agency Manning Gottlieb OMD and the Photon-owned Naked Communications.

The agency will now work alongside the incumbent on the advertising account, Abbott Mead Vickers. BBDO.

Act on CO2 is a cross government initiative consisting of the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Department for Transport and Department for Communities and Local Government.

In 2007, AMV.BBDO was appointed to the advertising brief following a consolidation pitch

It went head to head with fellow incumbent Leo Burnett.

Phd was recently awarded the £38m media account for insurance comparison site Confused.com following a three-way pitch against Walker and incumbent McCutcheon Norveil Consultancy
