News International’s free daily thelondonpaper has relaunched its website with more opportunities for advertisers to reach readers.
The publisher says it has refocused the site to make it more engaging and useful for readers in the capital. The site has been redesigned by the agency Nomensa.
Former Time Out online producer Serena Kutchinsky has been hired as editor of its Going Out section of the site to underline its entertainment credentials with its 18-35 target audience.
The paper has also struck a deal with Facebook so that readers can syndicate their story comments and other interaction on thelondonpaper site to appear on their Facebook ‘feed.’
Thelondonpaper recently announced it would hold a two-night mini music showcase involving more than 50 acts in a variety of venues around London in partnership with live events company Mean Fiddler.
The event, Headliners, is to take place in September and is the latest move by the evening free newspaper to consolidate its market position in the face of a refreshed London Evening Standard, now under the ownership of Russian oligarch Alexander Lebedev.
