Global premium spirits business William Grant & Sons Ltd has appointed Maurice Doyle as its new group marketing director.

Global premium spirits business William Grant & Sons Ltd has appointed Maurice Doyle as its new group marketing director.

He replaces Steven Sturgeon, whose departure was revealed by Marketing Week in March.

Doyle joins the company in August and will sit on William Grant & Sons’ Executive. He reports to chief executive Roland van Bommel and will be based at the Company’s global commercial and marketing HQ in Richmond, UK.

Doyle is currently managing director of Bacardi Global Travel Retail and is also a former Procter and Gamble marketer. He helped launch Bacardi Breezer in the UK and Europe.

Van Bommel says: “With his extensive experience marketing premium spirits brands and strong commercial acumen coupled with his strong leadership skills and results driven innovative approach, Maurice will be a valuable addition to our Executive team.

“As Group Marketing Director, Maurice will be responsible for the global marketing direction of our portfolio of core premium spirits brands, including Glenfiddich and Hendrick’s Gin, and for new brand development and will play a key role in building the value of our brands over the long term.”

William Grant appointed Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw to handle the £2m global direct marketing account for Glenfiddich last April.
