CNBC and Qatar Airways sign
CNBC has signed a new global commercial agreement with Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, focusing on its daily business news programme Worldwide Exchange.
The sponsorship and advertising deal runs until February 2010 and embraces CNBC’s networks in EMEA, Asia and the US.
The new campaign builds upon Qatar Airways’ sponsorship and association with Worldwide Exchange in 2008.
In EMEA, the campaign will see Qatar Airways advertisements running adjacent to Worldwide Exhange. In Asia and the US, Qatar will sponsor Worldwide Exchange in the form of commercial break bumpers, billboards and commercials, which will air exclusively on CNBC and promote a new Qatar Airways’ destination.
Chief executive officer Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker said: “Working with CNBC provides Qatar Airways an additional avenue to access a growing audience of influential executives with international business interests.”
Worldwide Exchange which is tri-anchored in Europe, Asia and the US and produced out of London. Worldwide Exchange is aired daily to more than 100 countries across the globe and experienced its largest growth in the last quarter of 2008, with a 100% increase in total viewers versus the previous year.
Al Baker adds, “This global campaign will further enhance the international reputation of Qatar Airways and we look forward to welcoming more business travellers onto our flights, which serve a diverse network of worldwide destinations.”
