Virgin Trains are jumping on the Katie Price and Peter Andre split tabloid sensation story bandwagon with a cheeky tactical London press ad launching tomorrow (Friday May 14).
The ad has the headline “We’d get Katie and Peter back together faster than a magazine deal” before going on to detail cheap intercity deals available if pre-booked from London on Virgin Trains which are boasting of its “shortest journey times ever”.
The ad, created by Virgin Trains incumbent agency Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy (MCBD), is due to appear in the London Lite tomorrow.
The split between Katie Price, the former glamour girl know as Jordan, and husband of five years Peter Jordan has dominated the tabloid news agenda this week.
MCBD won the virgin trains account last October following a final pitch against Rapier. The agency was appointed by sales and marketing director Sarah Ropely who initiated a restructure of the marketing department after she took over from Craig Inglis, who moved to become head of brand communications at John Lewis.
