GE Capital names marketing chief

Financial services firm GE Capital has named its senior UK marketers following the recent reorganisation of the company’s global financial operations under the GE Capital brand.

Markus Clavin has been named UK marketing officer while Sven Jirgal has been appointed to the role of commercial director.

Clavin steps up from his current role as marketing chief at GE’s Corporate Finance Bank and will be responsible for the marketing of GE’s asset-based lending and fleet and equipment financing operations.

Prior to GE, Clavin was head of strategic business at the Department of Trade and Industry’s small business service. He also held the same role at Clearlybusiness, a joint venture between Freeserve and Barclays.

Jirgal moves from his role as commercial leader for the UK leasing business.

The firm also announced the appointment of Darren Millard as UK operations director and Willie McGibbon as chief financial officer.

GE Capital reorganised its business at the start of the year.
